Being Left, A Poem

BEING LEFT

Henri Nouwen taught me to pass over loneliness to aloneness,
but not in everytime do I succeed.

We know that to be ALONE is good,
but we are not willing to be rejected,
despised by people around us;
Yes, there come days that we are LONELY!

Nevertheless, let us think over and over again about TIME!
‘Cause at the point of thinking about time,
THAT time has left us!
Yes, we are always left behind by the TIME.

So, to be alone is the sole part of our being.

Do I’m thinking existentially?
Or even of nihilism?
Well, YES and NO.

YES, since everyone experiences this;
and truly this makes us insecure.
The ONE within which we live
doesn't care for us.
Our “HOME” excludes us from its embrace;
Some will thus think life is not worth living!

But I say NO, just because there is ONE above time,
and that time is created along with other creatures.
Time is HIS!

Therefore, we are left by time, though,
we are still being overwhelmed by the MAKER of time!
He creates NEW TIME for us, that is the future!
And that means HOPE is there for us!
It is awaiting us to walk in it,
even when we don't care about it.

So, let us learn to love quietness,
for "it brings me through the whirlwind
to the stillness which is at its centre" (Tom Wright).

Quietness brings us peace.
Peace in HIM alone.
